Warnock has limited resources available to replace McCormack. Luke Varney stepped off the bench at the weekend and was later replaced by teenage rookie Dominic Poleon, who made his second substitutes' appearance for the club.

Varney is expected to start alongside Luciano Becchio against Hull, although veteran Andy Gray provides Warnock with an alternative option. Davide Somma is not ready to return to match action following his recovery from knee ligament damage.

Defender Adam Drury is doubtful after sustaining a muscle strain against Cardiff, while midfielders Paul Green (knee) and David Norris (thigh) remain sidelined, so new loan signing Michael Tonge is likely to continue as Leeds chase a second away league win of the season.

Hull midfielder Seyi Olofinjana will undergo a late fitness test ahead of the clash.

The Nigerian started only his second league match of the season in Saturday's home win over Millwall and was replaced in the 58th minute by Corry Evans due to a hamstring injury.

Evans will return to the starting line-up if Olofinjana fails to make it.

Leeds United prepare to entertain Hull City at Elland Road on Tuesday evening, looking to continue an impressive record. The Whites are clearly on top, winning 13 and drawing 6 of the 21 games played.

The most recent encounter between these two sides at Elland Road was just last season, in August 2011, when they eased past their opponents in a high-scoring 4-1 thriller, in a Championship match.

 Leeds United

• Neil Warnock is looking for a third win from Leeds's sixth league outing.

• United have already registered three wins and one draw from their four league and cup fixtures at Elland Road, which culminated in six goals being shared with Blackburn on 1 September.

• The club with the worst disciplinary record in the Championship last season have already committed an unrivalled 71 fouls in their five matches to date.

Hull City
• Steve Bruce's Tigers are one point off the pace, with the joint tightest defence, and are looking for a fourth win to make it their best start in 19 years.

• Although they have mounted an unequalled 75 goal attempts in Championship games home and away, they are yet to find the net on their league travels.

• Hull have not won in eight league games on the road since March, and have lost 599 away matches in total in second tier league football.
