The investigation leads Castle and Beckett to colorful "Storage Wars"-like treasure seekers and Manhattan socialites as they uncover the shocking truth. When mystery-thriller writer Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) is called in to help investigate a series of copycat murders based on his books, he finds he enjoys the experience sufficiently to want to continue it. Pulling strings, he arranges to accompany NYPD Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), claiming he wants to study and use her as a personality basis for his next book series. Once that initial case was solved, Castle and Beckett continued to investigate strange homicides in New York, combining Castle's writer intuition and Beckett's creative detective work.

Over the past four seasons, Castle and Beckett's relationship has grown even stronger as they've dodged bullets, captured killers, and solved countless murder cases with their unorthodox partnership.

Old habits die hard with Castle and Beckett. Even though they finally took the plunge and declared their love for each other in the Season 4 finale, 'Always,' their relationship is far from its happily ever after. In Castle's Season 5 premiere 'After the Storm,' Castle (Nathan Fillion) panics and wants Beckett (Stana Katic) to hide in the closet after his mother and daughter return home unexpectedly.

Likewise Beckett doesn't want anyone on the force to know they're a couple. So although we've taken a big step forward, Beckett and Castle still feel the need to keep their relationship a secret. It's not clear why they both desire to hide their love from the world unless it's the premise for more awkward and humorous scenes.

Even though hiding their relationship is a bit silly, 'After the Storm' is a very strong Season 5 premiere with plenty of twists to keep you engaged. Beckett realizes her life is in danger when Mr. Smith is abducted and tortured by Maddox in exchange for a coveted police file.

Beckett and Castle find Smith tied to a chair and nearly beaten to death. A copy of the file also is burnt in the fireplace. While Beckett believes retrieving the file is a lost cause, Castle believes there is another one hidden away in the building.

Unfortunately Maddox is following Beckett and Castle. Once they discover the whereabouts of the file, Maddox holds them at gunpoint and ties them up. There is a funny scene where Castle tries to saw through their ties with a dull screw. Luckily the writers had enough sense to have them rescued rather than have Castle miraculously cut through the tie.

Tonight's episode of Castle took us right back into the swing of things — Castle, Beckett, Ryan, and Esposito were back on the scene, but something was just a little bit different. And yes, we're talking about Kate's newfound "glow," as pointed out by medical examiner Lanie Parish.

Although it was business as usual — the gang worked together to track down the cold-blooded killer in the death of a New York City weather girl — Castle and Beckett's chemistry was more palpable than ever before, their banter more witty, and their eye contact more frisky.

After the dark, serious tone of Season 4, tonight's episode finally like a return to the Castle we first fell in love with — only this time, with all the benefits.

But, as we know too well, sex complicates things — especially when you're keeping it secret and agreeing to fancy dinner dates with floozy talk show hosts to keep up the charade. Yeah, Ricky, we're lookin' at you!

Sigh … we could watch Castle and Beckett do this adorable little dance forever. And the best part? They're still doing what they do best — putting criminals behind bars.

The pilot episode for ABC's new crime show "Castle" left me wanting more, much more in fact, and that is exactly what a good pilot should do. The relationship formed between the two leads is unquestionably one of the best and is, so far, most endearing. It is impossible to not like them.

I'll start with Nathan Fillion(of "Firefly" fame). Nathan plays Richard 'Rick' Castle. His charm and wit and spot-on comedic delivery make him alone the reason to tune in each week. Move over David Boreanaz 'cause Nathan has got you beat in the plucky-comedic-male-sidekick-to-tough-and-serious-female-cop role.

Nathan comes off as the friend we all want and treasure. Having followed Nathan's career rather closely I am glad to see him in this role. It fits his nature and you can tell he knows it too just by watching him. It's in his postures and mannerisms and facial expressions.

I believe he said in an interview that he is "72%" this character and that sounds about right. He is comfortable in this role. Similar to how he was comfortable when playing Malcom Reynolds in "Firefly"(which, by the way, is the greatest show of all time...period).
