West Brom will be looking to take full advantage of any untimely stumble from the Latics, with Steve Clarke's men having already shown that they are a force to be reckoned with this season.

The Baggies sit fifth in the division, level on points with Everton, and could move into the UEFA Champions League places on Saturday if results go their way.

A lofty standing has been achieved on the back of a sparkling record at The Hawthorns, though, with Clarke yet to oversee a win on the road - with two points taken from four fixtures.

Myhill will step in if number one Ben Foster fails to recover from a recurring groin problem which resulted in him seeing a specialist in Germany on Thursday.

Key midfielder James Morrison will be available should he suffer no adverse reaction on returning to training after missing the 2-0 home win against Southampton on Monday with a hamstring complaint.

West Brom haven't had the best of recent encounters with Wigan, failing to win the last four, but their early season form has been solid. They have claimed five wins from 10, managing to find the net at least once in every game bar one. They are fifth, and level on points with fourth-placed Everton, but Steve Clarke is right to point out that Albion might be even better off.

Last-minute goals from Edin Dzeko and Papiss Cisse led to successive defeats against Manchester City and Newcastle recently before they got back on track with Monday's 2-0 win over Southampton.

Wigan Athletic

Against Tottenham, Ben Watson became the first Englishman to score a Premier League goal for Wigan in 2012. Aylesbury-born Emerson Boyce has also scored for the Latics this term, but he represents Barbados at international level.

Wigan have kept two clean sheets in their last 11 league games - both of which were away from home (at Southampton and Tottenham).

The Latics have won Premier League games away at Arsenal and Tottenham this calendar year.

Manchester United and Chelsea are the only other sides to have managed that feat.

West Bromwich Albion

Steve Clarke's side have kept four clean sheets - the joint highest tally in the division.

They have scored just three away league goals this season, the joint-lowest in the Premier League.

They have claimed 15 of their 17 points on home turf.

The Baggies are looking for their first Premier League away win of the season and have won only one of their last 10 away league games (1-0 at Liverpool in April).
