With The Spectator in jeopardy after Dan decided to publish elsewhere, Nate must make a difficult decision to keep it in business. Gossip Girl delves into the world of upper-class privilege and wealth of prep school teens on Manhattan's Upper East Side -- a world where secrets are hard to keep with the all-knowing Gossip Girl (voiced by Kristen Bell), a blogger with an unknown identity, following and recording their every move.

Gossip Girl seems to be recycling some old scandals this season, but I have a feeling there could be a reason behind this. In “Dirty Rotten Scandals,” we witnessed yet another fashion show explosion (remember when Jenny Humphrey staged a guerrilla show for her line?), but some of these characters we’ve grown to love and love to hate are starting to show a little maturity.

Key word there, some. The scandals seem to fall to the wayside, to the high schoolers watching the Upper East Side elite, as the twenty-somethings we follow make their way in the world. Then again, Serena (Blake Lively) still annoyed me and I never thought I’d say this, but I think I might prefer Bart (Robert John Burke) to Rufus (Matthew Settle) at this point.

The episode opened as Blair’s (Leighton Meester) fashion show deadline began to draw to an end. As it seemed, Blair had been working overtime in an attempt to finish a new line in ten days and she did a pretty damn good job. Her staff seemed to be working like a well-oiled machine, with Dorota (Zuzanna Szadkowski) as the fuel, of course.

Blair decided to use It-girls as opposed to actual models, playing to a Manhattanite audience who idolize the fashion tastes of Serena Van Der Woodsen as opposed to, say, Heidi Klum.

The minions were a train wreck, and Nelly reveled in Blair’s inept attempt at convincing her that they used to be friends. Nelly actually had some nice moments of throwing shade. Chalk it up to a few early seasons of being the show’s punching bag. She informed Blair that her clothes would be featured alongside those of Poppy Lifton, another face from the past.

I barely remember Poppy but I remember her being a short-term villain and the gang getting rid of her because she was a horror show. Through a little undercover research, Blair discovered that Poppy’s line was nearly identical to hers; same fabric and all. Of course, she cried, “sabotage” and chose to play dirty. Does that ever really work, Blair?

Not unless she’s going after a real bad guy. Not against Nelly Yuki. Whenever the show presents a situation like this, we know Blair is going to get “pied in the face” by now.

I use to watch this show every now and then but 2 days ago I decided to hire the first season now I'm nearly finished the second! It made a good impression on me. If you like teenage girls, drama and slightly predictable shows with also a bit of unexpected story lines then this is the show for you..Oh and catty girls! I have no problems at all with this show... It has its humour as well as all the drama which is good.
