Winger Forrest has picked up a different, less serious, hamstring injury after coming back from a two-month lay-off while Mulgrew has strained a muscle near his ribs.

Hibernian prepare to entertain Celtic at Easter Road on Saturday afternoon, needing to improve on a poor record between the sides. The visitors have won 78 of the 156 previous games, with the Hibees winning just 38.

The most recent encounter between these two sides at Easter Road was less than a year ago, in February 2012, where Celtic annihilated the Hibees 0-5 in a Scottish Premier match.

Hibernian manager Pat Fenlon: "It's a big week for us. Celtic at home and Hearts away are massive games, but they're great games to look forward to.

"We shouldn't have to worry about getting people up for the next two.

"We feel we're capable of getting something out of both games.

"It's important we approach them in the right manner.

"Retention of the ball against a team like Celtic is really important, your concentration levels have to be really high as well because they've got players in all positions that can cause you problems.

"We've got good players, we've got a good crew there and they work tremendously hard. To be overcritical of them is not really fair."

Celtic manager Neil Lennon: "I think Pat's made huge strides in turning things around at Hibs.

"The progression they've made under Pat this season has been tremendous and they've been, more or less, there or thereabouts in the top three or four all season.

"He's turned around the character of the squad, I think he's recruited well and in [Leigh] Griffiths they have a player who has been very consistent this season.

"Easter Road's a great fixture and I think the players are very much looking forward to going there and playing but it won't be easy.

"We want to maintain this winning run going into the break and, if we can do that, it's up to the rest to stay in touch."
