The Tigers will be hoping to improve upon a record which has seen them ending up on the losing side in more than half of the games played between the two.

The most recent encounter between these two sides at City Ground was just last season, in October 2011, with Hull City inflicting a narrow 0-1 defeat upon the Forest in a Championship match.

Defenders Daniel Ayala and Brendan Moloney, midfielders Guy Moussi, Lewis McGugan, Andy Reid and James Coppinger were all on the bench against the Tractor Boys.

O'Driscoll's options may be boosted further if defender Greg Halford and midfielder Jermaine Jenas can overcome calf injuries.

Striker Simon Cox joins midfielders Radoslaw Majewski (ankle) on the sidelines as a long-term absentee after a scan revealed he suffered ankle ligament damage during the 2-1 win at Wolves last weekend.

Hull winger Sone Aluko is Steve Bruce's only new injury concern - he is nursing a minor knee problem - but is expected to play some part for the Tigers, who could be unchanged from the side that started in the midweek draw with Crystal Palace.

Defender Jack Hobbs and midfielder Tom Cairney could both be included in the squad for the first time this season following respective long-term knee injuries after coming through 90 minutes for the reserves unscathed in midweek, but neither is likely to be pressed into action.

Bruce has plenty of options in central defence with James Chester, Paul McShane, Alex Bruce and Abdoulaye Faye all vying for the centre-back slots.

Nottingham Forest

Forest lie just three points outside the top six, and are vying for a third win in four.

The midweek defeat at Ipswich was only their second in 11 league outings, and fourth of the campaign.

Sean O'Driscoll's side have completed three matches since notching an unrivalled eighth draw of this Championship campaign, and have conceded a goal a game on average at home.

Hull City

The Tigers became the first club to prevent Crystal Palace from scoring, when they held them to a goalless draw on Tuesday.

Steve Bruce's side have won one of the last four, and although they've won three more matches than Nottingham Forest, are only three points better off than their east Midlands opponents.

Just two of their 10 wins have been against fellow top-half clubs, but Hull remain the only club in the Championship with a 100% return from matches in which they have opened the scoring.
