Audiences fist-pumped farewell to Jersey Shore at the end of 2012, but MTV is greeting 2013 the guidette way on Tuesday with the Season 2 premiere of Snooki & JWOWW (10/9c). With a new baby and an engagement, respectively, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley have grown up since leaving the Shore. But the ladies ensure us that motherhood and a fiancĂ© haven't completely altered their antics — and the cameras are there to prove it.

TV Guide Magazine: Now that Jersey Shore is over, what will be different in this season?
Snooki: On Jersey Shore, you just see us partying, but you don't really get to know us as friends. In our spinoff, you get to see our real friendship and how we are day-to-day. We're truly best friends so I love the fact that our real relationship is being shown.

JWoww: We've always wanted a show together and we knew it was kind of meant to be. Our [Jersey Shore] cast appreciates it, loves it and comes on and visits us as much as they can.

Suddenly, maybe for the first time, Ma isn’t after her to clean her room or asking what time she came in, or digging into the details of her date.

“Snooki & JWoww” starts with each girl having that conversation with her mother, and both mothers saying what moms are supposed to say.

I’m not sure you’re ready. I worry about you. You know you’ll have to pay bills and do your own cooking. Blah, blah, blah.

And Jenn says look, Ma, I only got a couple of years until I’m 30 and the best years are over. And Snooki says she doesn’t want to be one of those kids who’s 40 and still living with her parents.

The exchanges seem honest enough and occasionally entertaining, like when Snooki tells her mother they can save on electricity if they burn candles “like the Amish.”

In this case, however, these chats also feel surreal, because every viewer knows that both Snooki and Jenn have for several years been making a whole lot more money than the average twentysomething who’s clinging to an entry-level job and waitressing at night.

Jersey Shore's trashiest trailer park party gals move in together to continue cashing in on their reality show celebrity status as low-class women of loose moral standards.

Too bad that MTV managed to dig under every rock and rotten tree branch and found these kind of trashy people. MTV has made billions of dollars from bringing down American culture to the lowest points that are possible.

The big news is that Snooki is pregnant. They are going to spend twenty four episodes of this show testing all the different men who might be the father of the creature. God only knows who it might be!
