From now on they will be forced to follow dress codes, make deadlines and above all wake up before noon. After realizing they are no longer responsible for making the grade in school, they will do whatever it takes to avoid work and have a good time.Workaholics is one the funniest and fresh approaches to TV comedy show's in a long time. The thing that makes the show work (IMO) is the shameless, unpretentious and somewhat unwittingly likable nature of the characters on the show. The plots are always out of the ordinary and the scripts are somewhat good natured and amiable, which adds a higher level of likability to the already goofy characters. One of Workaholics greatest accomplishments is the unconscious gusto that the show genuinely displays, which is the fact that the creators are unquestionably having a good time while filming & especially writing the show, and it's that much better for it.
I do have to admit the ideas in the show are largely aimed towards a 21-28 year old viewing audience, and some people might find the subject matters from episode to episode to be overly perverse, immature or non-relatable, which if you ask me, makes for another reason the show is so gut-bustingly genius, It's a pioneering effort in mad magazine esq. entertainment and it's goddamn funny.
The greatest thing though about Comedy Centrals Workaholics is that it's the wacky side of TV comedy and comedy in general and it's a light hearted and rad ride. I Highly recommend this show.
Three seasons in, you’d think the lovable stoner bros from Comedy Central’s “Workaholics” would have defiled every pillar of professionalism at TeleAmericorp, not to mention done every drug there is.
Oops, they’ve never taken a business trip—or dropped acid—which makes the Season 3 premiere, “The Business Trip” (9:30 p.m. May 29, Comedy Central; 3 stars), a delightfully hallucinatory binge of laughter.
The three main characters, Blake, Adam, and Anders, were roommates in college, and continue to share a house together as they transition into adulthood. The show's action is generally confined to the main characters' house and their workplace, a cubicle the three of them share at a telemarketing company called Telamericorp.
Irreverent to everything, including itself, this show takes a light look at the harsh reality for most 20somethings. (like when they're wondering how they're going to get clean urine when everyone their age smokes pot. Word, right?) It's refreshing, constantly funny and well-acted. With three slackers as the main characters, it's nice to see each one slack in their own style, be it uptight, mellow or on the edge. (ders, blake and adam).
I'd have to agree with other reviewers that I hope Adam tones down the funny-cuz-im-loud aspect. He does it well, and it's usually funny, but it won't be quickly. I get the fratboy lifestyle mocking though.
