Mark Reynolds could feature for Aberdeen after sealing his return to Pittodrie.

The defender rejoined the Dons this week on a season-long loan from Sheffield Wednesday, following a successful spell in the Granite City last term.

Youngsters Jamie Masson and Clark Robertson remain on the sidelines for the visit of the newly-promoted Highlanders.

Reynolds could make Dons return Mark Reynolds could feature for Aberdeen in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League game against Ross County after sealing his return to Pittodrie.

The defender rejoined the Dons this week on a season-long loan from Sheffield Wednesday, following a successful spell in the Granite City last term.

Youngsters Jamie Masson and Clark Robertson remain on the sidelines for the visit of the newly-promoted Highlanders.

Reynolds admits he was desperate for a return to Aberdeen and the opportunity to play first-team football again.

He told RedTV: "It was always out of my hands as to whether I would return.

"I couldn`t stay up here because I had two years left on my contract at Sheffield Wednesday.

"I went down to England to do my pre-season and spoke to the new manager, who wanted me down there.

"However, with the sheer volume of players - there was something like 10 defenders and Dave Jones had signed six of them - the manager agreed to allow me to go out on loan.

"He was keen for me to get some game-time as he said he did not like stifling players` careers.

"I did not want to stay and sit in the stand on a Saturday. I wanted to come back here as soon as possible." Reynolds added: "It feels like I have never been away. I have slotted straight back in.

"As any footballer will tell you, the quicker you can get settled in, the quicker you can get back to playing football again." Dons boss Craig Brown says his summer transfer dealings are now complete and thanked the board for sanctioning Reynolds' capture.

He said: "We are very pleased to get Mark back. We have been trying to get him here since the end of last season.

"[Chief executive] Duncan Fraser showed great perseverance and we have managed to get him here. He has worked hard to get the squad we are looking for.

"We have now got the squad we were seeking.

"I must thank the board for their support to enable us to get to where we are in terms of recruitment.

"That is all we will be able to do in the transfer market. We have been able to get four good players in. These are four top players." Looking ahead to the visit of newly-promoted County, Brown added: "We hope the supporters come and we do not want to let them down.

"When there has been an expectation in the past, we have not delivered the way we would have liked to have done.

"Ross County will be a difficult game. They have that winning mentality as they were outstanding last season in the First Division.

"Anyone who underestimates them is making a big mistake. We will not underestimate them." Midfielder Stuart Kettlewell remains County's only absentee.

The 28-year-old serves the final game of a two-match suspension having missed the Staggies top-flight debut last weekend.

Scott Boyd has recovered from a slight ankle problem meaning manager Derek Adams has no injury concerns.

Adams is hoping to extend the club's unbeaten league run at the expense of his former side.

Adams was part of the youth set-up at Aberdeen before returning to Pittodrie for a season in 2004.

Now the 37-year-old takes his newly-promoted Staggies to face his former side, looking to make it 36 league games without tasting defeat.

Adams said of his time at Aberdeen: "I started off there as a 16-year-old.

"It is a good club and a good upbringing, the right coaching and the right values. I always liked going back as a player but going back as a manager will be special.

"Of course we are looking after Ross County and are trying to get these three points. Hopefully it will be a good game with plenty of chances and we will certainly go out of the way to try and win the match.

"We take that (unbeaten record) into the game and would love to keep that run going. We are looking to try and win the match like Aberdeen will.
Ross County fans will be accomodated in the East Section of the South Stand at Pittodrie, access to this area is via the turnstiles at the Golf Road side of the stadium.

There will be cash turnstiles in operation, and with a large number of Staggies expected to travel for what is the first away match in the SPL for the team it is hoped that this will avoid the traditional rush in the last 10 minutes before kick off which can result in fans missing the early action in the match.

Furthermore fans should also note that prior to kick-off, a minutes applause tribute will be paid to Teddy Scott, a legendary figure not just in the history of Aberdeen but also someone who typified a golden generation of Scottish Football.
Ross County therefore ask that all fans who are able to make the effort to be in the stadium early to pay tribute to Teddy, and of course to get behind the team right from the kick off.
