The Gunners have claimed victory from 4 of the previous 5 games.

The most recent encounter between these two sides at Ashburton Grove was just last season, in September 2011, the Gunners carving out a narrow 1-0 victory in a Premier League match.

The Gunners are five points off the top four and Wenger will be determined to avoid seeing his side lose more ground on the chasing pack.

Arsenal have won just three of their last nine Premier League home games, while Swansea have won just two of their last 10 Premier League away games.

Honours were even between both sides last season with Arsenal winning 1-0 at the Emirates before Swansea took the scalp of the Gunners at the Liberty Stadium with a 3-2 victory.

Swansea go into the game in fine form, having lost just one of their last nine games and they will be buoyed by their midweek win over West Brom.

Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna is doubtful for Saturday's Premier League clash with Swansea because of a foot injury.

Forwards Theo Walcott (ankle) and Lukas Podolski (virus) will also be assessed, with the latter having missed the 1-1 draw with Everton on Wednesday.

Defender Laurent Koscielny (thigh) is set for a spell on the sidelines, while defender Andre Santos (stomach muscle) and midfielder Abou Diaby (thigh) continue their rehabilitation.

Arsenal

Arsenal have recorded their lowest points tally after 14 matches under Arsene Wenger. They last fared worse in 1994, when they had 19 points at the equivalent stage of the season.

They have won only three of their last nine league matches at the Emirates Stadium (W3, D4, L2).

Nonetheless, they have only been outscored once in the second half of matches this season.

They are the only club yet to concede in the final 15 minutes of a Premier League match this season.

The Gunners have won their last five matches in which Mark Clattenburg was referee.

Theo Walcott could make his 100th Premier League start for Arsenal.

Swansea

The Swans are unbeaten in their last five league fixtures, their best spell in the top flight since a club record nine-match streak from January to March 1982.

They are looking to win back-to-back league away matches for the first time since March.

Their five wins this season have all come after scoring first - they and Manchester United are the only Premier League clubs not to drop any points from winning positions.
