Dumped in his hometown of Miami, Florida, he's been left in the cold with no money, no job and no information. With no job history, cash or credit, he becomes a private eye with the skills he picked up as an intelligence operative. With the help of his old friend, the drinking, womanizing Sam Axe, and his gun-running, trigger-happy ex-girlfriend Fiona, he makes people's problems go away. But when he's done, Michael's biggest problem becomes finding out who burned him and trying to get back into the game.

Briefly appearing to fend off an impending attack, Madeline (Sharon Gless) and Jesse’s (Coby Bell) appearance in the premiere showed that everyone is stepping up their game this season.

A perfectly placed shotgun blast through the ceiling indicates that Michael’s mother has been picking up some tricks from her son. While it’s doubtful that Madeline is going to be joining in on all the action in the rest of the season, the moments in the series when she’s put to the test are always as rewarding as Michael succeeding in his missions.

Using a somewhat extended finale premiere, Burn Notice has kicked off its sixth year in a truly exciting way. By replicating the same suspenseful cliffhangers that audiences typically have to wait months to see, the anticipation for next week’s episode feels as strong as it did following the Burn Notice season 5 finale.

With next week’s episode likely returning to episodic storylines and person-of-the-week appearances, hopefully the writers will continue this wonderful storyline by more seamlessly incorporating aspects of the seasonal story arc, instead of simply using it to bookend episodes.

Now that Michael is facing a (more than) equally matched nemesis, Burn Notice has a chance to deliver its best season yet. Whether it takes advantage of all the talent it has on hand remains to be seen. If the season 6 premiere is any sign of what’s to come, there’s no doubt that some wonderful storytelling awaits us.

Very fun, tho' the voice-overs are a bit much at times... and the music/slow-mo/stop-mo action stuff is a bit kitsch (probably the look they were going for).

Def. think Donovan's personality comes through in his performance -- seems like he is having TONS O' FUN with the part... (who wouldn't? It's a dream role)... but he DOES come across as a bit stiff at times... can't tell if that's the writing or his take on the character. Funny... you can hear his Boston accent come thru a lot... but it adds some charm (assuming you like Boston accents!!) Bruce Campbell is perfectly cast... will be fun to see their partnership evolve over the episodes... Not sure about Anwar as Fiona... can't decide if it's the role (and how desperate she seems to be to get back with Michael) or the actress in the role...

I do enjoy the dialog (VERY funny at times - ex: the backseat of the Mercedes)... and the speed of delivery... makes it fun to watch and the time fly... so KUDOS to the writers...
